Wien Energie is conducting an ambitious project of building an infrastructure of electric charging stations. Until the end of 2015. it plans to build additional 400 charging stations in the Vienna region, including neighboring Lower Austria.
The payment system for recharging batteries and using the system is being consolidated. It will be possible to pay using QR codes, SMS, or a card. The e-roaming is also being introduced, similar to telecommunications networks, where a customer can use other recharging networks.
