Wien Energie is rolling out one of largest smart charging station networks in Europe

Wien Energie is conducting an ambitious project of building an infrastructure of electric charging stations. Until the end of 2015. it plans to build additional 400 charging stations in the Vienna region, including neighboring Lower Austria.

The payment system for recharging batteries and using the system is being consolidated. It will be possible to pay using QR codes, SMS, or a card. The e-roaming is also being introduced, similar to telecommunications networks, where a customer can use other recharging networks.

Natural Gas m3-to-kWh Converter, Vienna

It is funny how natural gas (Erdgas) prices are calculated by Wien Energie in Austria. The usage is expressed in cubic meters (m3) while the prices are expressed in cents per kilowatt hour (c/kWh). The key to finding the approximate final price is in the converter below:

This will include some variables used by Wien Energie, like average air pressure and temperatures, when calculating the price of gas. In 2013, for example, 1 cubic meter of natural gas gives about 11 kWh of energy. Note that Vienna height above the sea level is 164m.
